Tips for a Cooler Summer Home

When heat waves hit the the East Coast it can be hard to remain cool in houses created for a temperate environment! Here are some suggestions to assist release the heat!

1. Close Your Windows

This may appear counter-intuitive, but closing your windows will help keep one’s cool air in and hot air out. When the temperatures drop however then close them in the morning prior to leaving the home, you can open them back up at night.

2. Let Nature Be Your Ac System

3. Eat Cool

4. Hang Out in all the “Cool Places”

If you’re fortunate sufficient to have shaded areas in your house or backyard, or super luck and have a below-ground basement, aim to invest most of your time in these areas. That might mean moving y our computer to the kitchen table for the day, folding laundry in the living-room, or prepping your dinner on the patio.
